Karyn Clark BSc

Karyn is the founder and owner of Evolve Life Pain & Injury Clinic, with over 25 years in the health and fitness industry, Karyn herself knows exactly what it is to Evolve Life.

Prior to completing her Chiropractic degree, at McTimoney College of Chiropractic as part of the University of Wales Karyn taught Outdoor Education working with a wide range of ages to and abilities. It was during this time that Karyn discovered McTimoney Chiropractic and made the decision to change direction, although she has never left her Outdoor Education skills behind.

Having completed her degree in 2004 Karyn went on to open her first clinic Evergreen Chiropractic Clinic in Letchworth Garden City, and it wasn’t long before her and her associates outgrew the property and needed to expand. In 2008 Evergreen Chiropractic Clinic grew into Evergreen Wellness Centre and saw the introduction of a wide range of therapies and classes including Yoga, Pilates, Counselling and much more. For the next 12 years Evergreen Wellness Centre continued to thrive.

During this time along with being the Director and Clinical lead for the clinic Karyn continued with her own studies and as well as being the go to lady for Pelvic Girdle Pain as recommend by the Pelvic Partnership, she trained as a PT and Clinical Somatics Educator developing a passion for helping people to learn how to alleviate painful themselves, and understand the mechanisms of pain and self management.

Having to overcome her own years of back pain (including fracturing her spine snowboarding at 24) it was time to make a change and take the clinic into a new direction. In 2019 Evergreen Wellness Centre became Evolve Life at Evergreen, and saw the installation of a new rehab facility helping people to move away from pain, through manual therapy, movement and education. Unfortunately none of us knew at this time what was waiting around the corner for us when the world stood still in March 2020. Although as Chiropractors were were able to remain open, all of the other facilities at the clinic had to close and go online. As time went on and the Pandemic continued to affect so many businesses, it became apparent that once again the Clinic needed to take a new direction to survive.

In September 2020 Evolve Life Pain & Injury Clinic open its doors back in the centre of Letchworth Garden City.

“My goal was always to open a multi-disciplinary clinic and for 12 amazing years realising that dream. Life has many twists and turns and although the pandemic was a really big twist, we were able to regroup, make change and once again Evolve. Isn’t that what life’s about? This has become a new opportunity to refocus and take the clinic in a new and exciting direction incorporating up to date understanding around the management of pain and injury. Just as the clinic its self has Evolved so has our understanding of pain and the management of it. It is important for the clinic and practitioners to stay up to date with the current evidence and research.”

As well as working and seeing clients privately Karyn has also spent many years teaching Clinical Somatics professionally as well as continuing her own studies in pain education always dedicated to evolving herself both professionally and personally. When not in clinic Karyn can often be found in the gym or on the water being a keen, wakeboarder and paddle boarder, as well as a competitive bodybuilder!
